Gentle strength The Tesco's finest Valpolicella I tried was not a Classico but a Ripasso (the first indicate the most vocated production area, the latter a winemaking technique). However, I really enjoyed it. It has some character and edge, and yet it is gentle and smooth enough. It has worked very well with various rich foods. I know its not as sophisticated as others but its a good mainstay for pizza and pasta. This one in particular is one that I buy quite regularly as I've never had a bad one.
