Poised, charming and a little pricey It is a pleasurable wine, easy to drink, fruity (forest fruits) and soft. It is rather full bodied but not heavy and retains good freshness. The oak is very well integrated and the wine ends on a spicy note. It is an enjoyable and well balanced wine, but it could be cheaper and a little more tannic. I got 6 bottles of this Koonunga Hill for about £4 each!! (you do have to buy 6 bottles to get the discount though) If you haven't tried it yet, I'd definitely recommend it. We went out to an Italian restaurant last night and it was BYO wine. My girlfried picked up a bottle of this for us to try, and at first I must admit that I was a bit iffy about having an Aussi red with delicate Italian food. It did actually work! I had a creamy linguini and so did she, and we guzzled the bottle between us (OK, so I had quite a bit more), and yes I will be getting this wine again!
