I obtained this wine(2002) as part of a mixed case. Although I knew that the Rhone 2002 vintages were pedestrian, I trusted that the rave reviews of this Guigal blend would guarantee its relative quality. It was just as pedestrian as the other Rhone 2002s that I had been unfortunate to try.
Very disappointing. I would like reviewers to tell us which year vintage the wine lauded is? On reflection, year is more important than winery reputation.

Has wonderful spicy aromas and flavours of, mentholly, mineral infused, blackcurrants, tar and mulberries, with new oak only acting as a support. It has a voluptuous, luxuriously textured medium to full bodied palate with outstanding concentration, excellent deliniation and a slightly austere feel on the vigorous and extremely long finish.
