Good wine comes at a price I've always recognised the Guigal name as a quality wine brand, and so I bought this for my husband over Christmas. This went down really well, as he fancies himself as a bit of a wine conoisseur! It's a wonder he allowed me to share it with him, but he did and we had it with steak au poivre a few days later. Anyway, it reminded me just why I'm such a fan of good Chateauneuf du Pape. It's rich without being overbearing, peppery and jammy all at the same time. Millions of layers which reveal themselves at different times all make you look a bit simple-minded as you stare blankly into the distance contemplating each mouthfull.
