just tasted the 2006 vintage and its even more well balanced than the 2005. gret tastes of plum, black cherry, coffee bean, dark chocolate. its smokey and spicy and goes fantastically with a steak or bbq food. also if you are feeling a little adventurous, try it with a dark chocolate dessert.

A friend brought this round and told me that he'd tried it in South Africa and encouraged me to give it a go. It took me a while to understand what he was on about, as it's a pretty acquired taste. After a while the smokey and slightly tar-like characters mellowed out and I began to taste the fresh plum and cherry flavours. I would definately recommend having it with something quite hearty though.

Bought this wine as a bit of a treat, and we had it with venison steaks. What can i say, it was absolutely delicious! Loads of red and black fruits, and a lovely spicy aftertaste. I think drinking this on its own might be a bit much, but certainly with the right food it's ace!

Why can't all wines be as good as this? Full on fruit, subtle vanilla oak style - a bargain even at eight quid!

Have drunk Diemersfontein Pinotage on different occcasion and always enjoyed it. Better drunk with food as a little full body and high alcohol to drink on its own, especially if you haven't eaten yet!! Flavours of mocha, chocolate makes it all the more enjoyable.
