I bought this due to the great reviews it's getting. My partner and I are both fans of Rioja wines for its fruity flavours and smooth drinkability. This wine (2006) was under a fiver at Tesco, so it was a good deal. Or so we thought.
The wine smelt very fruity and rich, but unfortunately fell short of expectations when it came to taste. It was quite watery, tasteless and fairly high in acidity. Save your money for a better wine.

I served this wine to friends at a recent "Cheese and wine" party and it seemed to go down well. I only had a couple of bottles left to enjoy on my own!!

Ordinary at best for a rioja. Has about as much oak as its cork has real cork.A tad better if drunk when wolfing down a leg of lamb or a spicy casserole. At its best alongside fresh bread and chorizo when it becomes altogether a different wine.

After reading other reviews, I was really looking forward to trying this Rioja. It has a good red colour and quite leggy, an excellent nose with hints of plums and spice, but it lacked a matching taste; there seemed little of the flavours that you could smell and no discernable after taste. It was just another gluggable wine.

I'm drinking this as I write.
I'm also eating some very nice olives and there is a pizza in the oven. This is a very good, everyday wine for this combination.
I am very happy to buy this and relax with some food, a movie and some friends.
¡Que Aproveche!

I expected thi to be pretty traditional and fusty tasting, but I was wrong. It's a lovely, smooth red with an almost creamy aftertaste - with loads of red and black fruitiness. I think they should do something to change the label a bit, but the liquid inside is pretty good I must say!

I drink this all the time being a fan of Spanish wines. Its not your top end but is inoffensive and extreemely drinkable on the sofa watching a movie an eating chocolate! Fantastically good value at £5.99
