7/10 A lovely CdP imitation - (La Chasse du Pape Reserve Cotes du Rhone)

La Chsse du Pape Ctes du Rhne Reserve 2007. An IWSC Silver wine from the Rhne region. Grape varieties: Syrah, Grenache, Mourvdre and Cinsault. The Syrah spent some time in oak barrels. When I bought my bottle the lady at the cash desk told me it was his husbands favourite wine, and I thought if only her hubby had been a wine connoisseur... :-) Impressive bottle and label. Plastic cork (no probs). Medium garnet colour. Moderately intense rose, blackberry, cherry and lavender aromas dominate the nose complemented with subtle smoky notes. On the palate, this well balanced, approachable wine has mouthfuls of blackberry and cherry flavours with a touch of rosemary and dark chocolate. Elegant tannin structure. Medium-plus fruity (dark berries) aftertaste. You can drink it now (in moderation :-)) or mature it in bottle for a few years yet. Good value for money. Alc. 14. Price: 6.91.

2/10 Nail Varnish Remover anyone? - (Gallo Family Vineyards White Grenache )

Im not a wine drinker at all so I asked the shop assistant at my local Co-op if she would recommend me a sweet wine in any colour.
She recommended Gallo Family White Grenache....I read reviews that it was easy to drink and tasted more fruity than alcoholic, how wrong was that review.
It smells like a weaker version of nail varnish remover, it tastes very much like cheap sherry.

Ive been recommended Black Tower...I hope this is much better.

8/10 A very nice tipple for the price - (Beringer Founders Estate Chardonnay)

4 s bottle (half price supermarket offer) so I thought, why not? Glad I did as it is a very refreshing, citrusy Chardonnay. Quite rounded flavours, not too dry. A very good wine to quaff on its own. Good for summer evenings I suppose but I write this in a very cold March!

10/10 Jacaranda Hill-Try it!!! - (Co-op Jacaranda Hill Semillon)

I am so surprised there has been no review for this wine! I am by no means an expert on wines but this wine exceeds all I have tasted (and there have been many) I have travelled the world twice and this wine is by far superior to most. It is deep red, full bodied, and I mean full bodied. It is fruity to smell, with a velvety smooth taste on the tongue. I could go on...But all I can say is try it!! I give this wine 9 out of ten and only because a better wine may come along, I await that day!try it, you will not be disappointed a great Red Wine!!! Oh and excellent value for money!
