This was bought as a bit of a treat - as it's not really your average quaffing wine - unless you're minted! Anyway, it reminded me just why I'm such a fan of good Chateauneuf du Pape. It's rich without being overbearing, peppery and jammy all at the same time. Millions of layers which reveal themselves at different times all make you look a bit simple-minded as you stare blankly into the distance contemplating each mouthfull. I can't recommend this wine highly enough - but have given it my best shot! |
