It was a friends birthday the other day so we walked in to a supermarket and I made her choose a bottle. She chose Wolf Blass’s Yellow Label Cabernet Sauvignon, apparently she was drawn to its big punt! It’s a smooth, well balanced wine, which is no surprise as Wolf Blass have been named ‘red wine makers of the year’ by the International Wine challenge. It has gentle tannins with a predominate flavour of blackcurrant, almost cassis and a light hint of oak which gives it a nice spiced nose. The most impressive thing about this wine though is its legs, if it was a women it would be a 6 foot model. I’ll be having it again.
