A friend brought this round and told me that he'd tried it in South Africa and encouraged me to give it a go. It took me a while to understand what he was on about, as it's a pretty acquired taste. After a while the smokey and slightly tar-like characters mellowed out and I began to taste the fresh plum and cherry flavours. I would definately recommend having it with something quite hearty though. |
