"My preference" - Caves Saint-Pierre Preference Vacqueyras

I wasn't ever really sure what the characteristics of Rhone wines were. Having tried this wine - I am hooked. This is admittedly quite a big wine with a lot of fruit, pepper, chocolate, coffee and a bit of spice. Quite a lot of flavours to be getting on with I agree, but they work so well together that you really have to stop and break down the flavours you are getting. This wine really needs to go with heavy meaty dishes, but a couple of glasses on its own is also recommended!
